The report drills down into both wireless headphone and wireless speaker product categories to provide more insights. These are some example findings:

  • The hearables race is on

More than two thirds (67%) of Americans surveyed were interested in a wireless headset that could connect to the internet and provide voice assistance for their daily lives.

  • Expect the rise of truly wireless earbuds

Although they’re still only an emerging technology, our findings showed that more than half (53%) of consumers surveyed have or would purchase a pair of truly wireless earbuds.

  • The emergence of smart speakers

In total 71% of participants said that they might purchase a cloud-connected home speaker with smart assistant capability in the future (more than 30% were certain that they would do so).

  • Sound quality still most important

Our results showed that sound quality is a vital purchase driver for 78% of respondents.
