what’s next for the Internet of Things?
5G is the unified connectivity fabric for all kinds of IoT services
Today, we are only in the early phases of 5G deployment, yet we are already seeing unprecedented proliferation of technology adoption and consumer demand for 5G. While 3GPP Release 15 established a solid technology foundation and focused on enabling enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) use cases such as the smartphones, the evolution in Release 16 and beyond will expand 5G into new use cases across a broad set of industries. To fully realize the 5G vision, we are working with the mobile and broader vertical ecosystems to further evolve 5G with a focus of addressing the diverse IoT requirements. Read this blog post to see how 5G is the innovation platform for this decade and how it is evolving to connect virtually everything around us.
